CASHA. On December 24, at his residence, GEORGE, of Qormi, aged 85, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lina, his children Joyce and her husband Tony Buhagiar, Dione and his wife Margaret, Anna and her husband Joe Sammut, Saviour and his wife Paula, Josef and his wife Vanessa, grandchildren, his sister-in-law, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for St George parish church, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Ħniena Divina Cemetery at Burmarrad. She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband Don, her sons Donald and his wife Camille, Timothy, Patrick and his wife Kathi, her grandchildren Ian, Tyler, Emilia and Logan, her sisters Antoinette, Josephine and her husband Michael of UK, Candida and her husband Joe, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. PELLEGRINI PETIT. On December 23, JOSEPH, aged 88, passed away peacefully to eternal life, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Gaby, née Randon, his loving daughters Gabriella and her husband Christian Holland, Monique and her husband John Formosa, his grandchildren Nicholas, Gulja, Carla, Pascal and Phillipa, his brothers Paul and his wife Lina, George, Tonio and his wife Rosemary, his sister Rose Martin, his nephews and nieces and his numerous friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Ġesu Nazzarenu church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by private burial. Donations to the Renal Unit, Mater Dei Hospital will be appreciated. A special ‘thank you’ to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at the Renal Unit, Mater Dei Hospital.

TORPIANO. On December 24, JOHN, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Teresa, widow of Anthony Fabri and Yvonne, wife of Gerard Clarke, his in-laws Winnifred, widow of his brother Joseph, and Lilian, widow of his brother Anthony, his nieces and nephews and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Catherine Home today at 8.30 a.m. for St Mary parish church, Attard, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. His nieces wish to thank Sr Marguerite, Sr Eustella, Sr Antoinette and all the staff at St Catherine’s Home, Attard, for their care and dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Vella de Fremeaux. On December 26, ALICE, née Salamone, aged 94, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her son Peter and his wife Madeleine, Marika and her husband Tony Camilleri, Giovanna and her husband Edward Borg Barthet. Much loved Nanna Cookie to Nicole and her husband Adrian Delia, Michael, Philip, Martin, Matthew, Tania, Paul, Anne-Marie, Chris and Nick, her great-grandchildren Alexandra, Fran-cesca, Christian and Benjamin. Also mourning her are her many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. The family would like to thank the staff of Mater Dei ward M2 and all the staff at Casa Antonia for the loving care given over the past seven years. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. The family regret that they are unable to receive visitors. May God grant her eternal rest.

New Year’s concert

The New Year’s concert, organised by the Office of the President, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Tourism and the Malta Arts Council, will be held on January 9 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.

All proceeds will be donated to the Malta Community Chest Fund.
