Marriages
Mr CLAYTON VELLA and Miss DENISE VASSALLO
The marriage of CLAYTON, son of Joseph and Rita Vella, and DENISE, daughter of John and Carmen Vassallo, was held on December 5. Nuptial Mass was concelebrated at St Paul’s Cathedral, Mdina by the groom’s uncle, Fr Edgar Vella, and Fr Alfred Vella. Ruth Pizzuto and Elaine Vella, the bride’s and groom’s sisters respectively, witnessed the vows. Konrad Pizzuto and Edric Micallef were best men. The bride was attended by her sisters, Claire Vassallo and Isabelle Micallef. Her cousin Alessandra Cauchi was flower-girl and nephew Luke Pizzuto, acted as ring bearer. A reception was held at Torre Paolina, Madliena. The couple are on honeymoon in Mexico, Orlando and the Bahamas.
Obituary
CASSAR. On December 8, suddenly at his residence in St Julian’s, PAUL, aged 54, entered eternal life comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his unexpected loss his beloved wife Kay, his sisters Josephine, Rose-Marie Garzia, widow of Carmelo, his brothers Rev. Fr. Julian of Baker City, Oregon, US, Marcel and his wife Maria, his dear nephews Julian and Peter, his in-laws and their families in the UK, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday December 15 at 8.45 a.m. for St Julian’s parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Monastery of the Poor Clares, St Julian’s, and the Piccolo Clero (altar servers) Foundation, The Seminary, Tal-Virtù, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
