FARRUGIA. On December 9, MARLENE, passed into eternal life, aged 72, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Mourning her deeply are her mother Lucy, her brother Joe, her brother-in-law Austin Muscat Scerri, widower of her sister Winnie, her nieces Marcon Hili, Domika Fino, Erika Muscat Scerri, Pia Vassallo and Michaela Vella, their husbands and children, relatives and friends, especially the group Stand of Qawra Church. The funeral leaves her residence today at 1 p.m. for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel were Mass will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

Funeral

The Ciantar and Demajo families would like to express their thanks to all those who attended Mass on Thursday, December 9, and also to those who couldn’t be there, but they also would like to express their sorrow and regret at the unfolding of events due to bureaucratic reasons as they were beyond their control. MICALLEF EYNAUD. In loving memory of MAURICE, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away three years ago today. Sadly missed and always in the thoughts of his wife Lilian, his sons and their families.

Research in Marsamxett

Marine research activities will be held throughout this month in Marsamxett Harbour, between Manoel Island and Valletta through to Msida Point and Pietà Creek.

The motor vessel Isis will be conducting the survey by a Remotely Operated Vehicle, the Transport Malta Ports and Yachting Directorate said.

The research vessel will be towing instruments and may not be in a position to alter its course suddenly so mariners are advised to give it a wide berth of 200 metres.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and slow speed when in the vicinity of the above areas. Mariners are also notified to abide by any instructions from Valletta VTS on VHF Channel 12.

Gozo ferry trips

Gozo Channel ferry MV Malita will not be in service on Tuesday and Wednesday, the company said yesterday.

To compensate for the decrease in capacity, the frequency of the morning trips on both days will be every 30 minutes from 6.30 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. from Mġarr and Ċirkewwa.

Other trips will be carried out according to the published schedule.

Blood donation

The mobile blood donation unit will be available for blood donation most to Kalkara parish church, tomorrow, from 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m.

Power cuts

There will be power cuts in the following localities tomorrow:

Between 8 and 11 a.m. in Il-Forn, It-Torn, Santa Marija, and Il-Port streets, Daħla L-Għarejjex, Wied il-Qbajjar and surrounding areas in Marsalforn.

Between 2.30 and 5 p.m. in Taċ-Ċawla Street and surrounding areas in Victoria.
