CUOMO. On November 3, at Karin Grech Hospital, JOSEPHINE, aged 66, passed away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers John, Lino and his wife Lina, Tonio and his wife Lina of Canada, Mario and his wife Maryanne, her sisters Marisa and her husband Edwin Zammit and Jean, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Gregory parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. SALIBA. On November 3, Chev. Dr JOSEPH SALIBA, MD, PhC, KStJ (ex-Member of Parliament, Commissioner of St John’s Ambulance), formerly of Vittoriosa and residing at Marsascala, aged 84, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Maria née Pisani, his children Joe, Mario and his wife Yvonne, Monica and her husband John Sammut and Marco and his wife Marica, his grandchildren Ritienne and her husband Darren, Jodie and her husband Marlon, Andrew, Matthew, Luke, Mark, Lothar and Thomas, his only great-granddaughter Courtney, the family life-long companion Lora Psaila, his sisters, Sr Rosanna of the Dominican Order, and Laura, widow of Reno Borg, his in-laws Joe Pisani and his wife Maria of Australia, Frances and her husband Eric Dudley and Edwin Pisani and their respective families, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Our Lady of the Annunciation church, Vittoriosa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. ZAHRA. On November 2, at Karin Grech Hospital, SALVINA of Żejtun, residing in Fgura, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Angelo and his wife Miriam, Yvonne and her husband Vince Abdilla, Edwidge, widow of Saviour Debono and Godfrey, widower of Catherine, grandchildren and their respective spouses, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fgura, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Mass for 1958 graduates

Mass for the repose of the souls of departed colleagues and wives of medical course 1958 graduates will be celebrated at the Jesuits’ church, Merchants Street, Valletta, on November 13 at noon. Family members and friends are welcome.

Mosta mass

The philanthropic society Talent Mosti will be holding a Mass for the repose of the souls of its members and benefactors. It will be celebrated by Mosta archpriest Fr Mario Tong on November 16 at 6.30 p.m. at the Mosta parish church.

Benjamin Tonna lecture

The Institute for Research on the Signs of the Times will be holding the Benjamin Tonna Lecture 2010 on Teilhard De Chardin And Contemporary Mystic Quest with Ursula King, from the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Bristol, as guest speaker. The event will be held on November 12 at 7 p.m. at the Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana.

Pharmacy Of Your Choice

The pharmacy at the Gżira health centre closed down this week as a result of the roll-out of the Pharmacy of Your Choice scheme in Sliema. Those who have not yet registered with the scheme have to do so as soon as possible.

Symphonic concert

The Leone Philharmonic will hold its annual symphonic concert – Leone Band in Concert – at the Aurora Theatre in Victoria on November 14 at 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free, seats are first come, first served and doors open at 7 p.m.
