BUTTIGIEG. On September 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIANNE of Attard, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Edward, her children Matthias, Martina and her husband Roland Truninger, her grandsons Daniel and Oliver, her sisters and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for St Mary’s parish church, Attard, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

SEYCHELL. On September 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH (Peppi) 68, widower of Michelina née Attard, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Josette and her husband John Darmanin, Michelle and her husband Anthony Caruana, Marlene and her husband Alex Camilleri, his grandchildren Luca, Beppe, Miguel and Luigi, his brother and sister, in-laws, their families, other relatives and friends. Travelogue at China Culture Centre

Patrice and Sandra Peyre, who were awarded the Chinese language scholarship tour for Chinese language students, will be sharing their experiences tomorrow at the China Culture Centre in Melita Street, Valletta at 7 p.m.

The couple will guide viewers through a wonderful “virtual visual” tour of Beijing and the scenic cities of Hangzhou and Ningbo. Shanghai will be another highlight as the host city of World Expo 2010.

As the travelogue coincides with the Moon Festival, the China Culture Centre invites members of the public to participate in the festival on the same day.

The talk is free of charge with complimentary refreshments including moon cakes. Souvenirs will be awarded to participants who take part in a fun quiz.
