AQUILINA. On September 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, AGNES, widow of Joseph, aged 94, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holt Church. CASSAR. On September 16, JOYCE, widow of Guido, aged 63, passed away suddenly. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons Cedric and Christopher and his wife Josephine, her grandchild Marija, her brother Alfred Lia, other relatives and friends. DINGLI. On September 16, Lilian, née Ellul Mercer, aged 81, passed away peacefully at Karin Grech Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved and devoted husband John, her children Sandra, Robert and Lucienne, Marilyn, Christine, John and Bob, her only sister Jean Mifsud, her grandchildren Christopher and Erika, Steven, Danielle, Natali and Nick, Justine, Edward, family, neighbours and friends. MANGION. On September 16, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, BEATRICE (k/a BICE) née Muscat, aged 97, wife of the late Prof. Joseph J. Mangion, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nieces Lucienne, Cecilia, Anna, Brigitte and Patricia, her husband’s nephews and niece Maryrose, their families especially Anna, other relatives and friends especially Rose Sansone. The funeral will leave Casa Antonia tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetary. SPITERI MALLIA. On September 14, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, ANTOINETTE, née Cachia, widow of Maurice and mother of Marguerite, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, at the age of 88. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Joanna and her husband Francis Camilleri, her son-in-law Stephen Mangion, her grandchildren Andrew, Michael, Peter, Mark and Martine, and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. The funeral took place yesterday. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Rabat day concert

The Rabat local council will be marking Rabat Day 2010 with a symphonic concert by the Count Roger Band. The concert will be held on September 26 at 7 p.m. at St Agatha’s Auditorium in Rabat. Entrance is free.
