DeBONO. On August 25, DORIS of Valletta, widow of Lewis, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Mary and Josephine Spiteri, nephews and nieces and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for St Francis Conventual church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

XUEREB. On August 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIO, ex-Lotto Receiver, St Cajetan Band Club, Ħamrun, and ex-President, Lotto Receivers Union, aged 59, passed away peacefully after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Rose, his children Loraine, Kenneth, Steve and James, their respective husband and wives, his grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Amy, Julia and Maria, brothers and sisters, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff at the ENT and M3 wards for their love, care and dedication. Lord, please grant him eternal rest.

Power cuts

Power will be temporarily suspended for scheduled maintenance tomorrow in the following localities:

From 7 a.m. to noon in parts of St Julians Road and St Joseph Street, San Ġwann.

From 2.30 to 5 p.m. in April 28, 1688, Vincenzo Caruana Spiteri, Bishop D. Cocco Palmieri, Falkun, Ta’ Xaman and Fr Lazzru Camilleri streets, Sannat.

From 2.30 to 5 p.m. in San Kurunatu Street and parts of Tad-Duru and St Joseph streets, Nadur.

Computer courses

The National Council of Women will be conducting an evening computer ECDL course in English starting in September. Eight students will be accepted for every course and the council said individual attention would be given.

A programme of cultural and traditional activities will be organised by the Marsascala local council between September 3 and 6 from 6 p.m. onwards at St Anne Gardens.
