CASSAR. On August 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Ħamrun, aged 68, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, his children Georgina and her husband Joseph Abela, Silvio and his wife Cynthia, Marco, Antonio, and Claudio, his grandchildren Joanne, Shaun, Javier, Kyle and Déjan, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CORSO. On August 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, EMANUEL of Cospicua, ex-Drydocks employee aged 74, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ċettina, his daughters Anna and her husband Raymond, Catherine and her husband Lawrence and Joanne and her husband Marco, his beloved grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Clayton and his fiancée Perla and Neal Mark, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m., for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Collegiate church, Cospicua, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Żabbar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GRECH. On August 17, ALEXANDER, aged 73, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Mary, his loving son Simon and Sue, his sister Mary, wife of Charles Camilleri, and Iris, widow of his brother Ben, his brother Joe of Canada, his sisters-in-law Monica, wife of Joe Sammut, Josephine, widow of Melvyn Poynter, Mario and Renate, aunties, uncles, nephews and nieces, many friends and ex-colleagues. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Julians parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Fra Diegu Institute, Ħamrun, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SCARROW. On August 15, at home in Xagħra, JAN, passed away peacefully, cared for and comforted by her husband, Dr Paul Scarrow, daughter Rhiannon and close friend Bettine. A short illness took her from us and we all, family and friends, deeply mourn her passing. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 9 a.m. on Friday for a short service and subsequent burial at sea from the Hay Wharf, adjacent to the Excelsior Hotel, Valletta, departing for sea at 10 a.m. A celebration of Jan’s life will follow in the early evening, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Calypso Hotel, Marsalforn.

Requiem Mass

The 7 p.m. Mass said today at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Tigné seafront, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of the soul of JOE GATT BALDACCHINO. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

In Memoriam

DIMECH – ANTHONY. In everlasting memory of Tony, a beloved husband, father and grandfather who was called to the Lord 20 years ago today. May he rest in peace. His wife Lina, daughters Sarah, Claire and John, grandchildren Giulia and Benjamin.
