SPITERI. On July 19, FRANCIS of Ħamrun, lived in Sta Venera and Marsalforn, Gozo, aged 72, passed away peacefully at Gozo General Hospital, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary Jane, his daughters Jennifer and her husband Teddy and Michelle, who resides in the UK, his grandchildren Maurice Gaetano and Jo-Marie, his sister Ġuża, widow of Leli, residing in Canada, Carmen and her husband John, Gejtu and his wife Kitty, Jessie, widow of his brother Freddy, his in-laws Carmen, Paul, John, Vicky, Joe, Manuel, Nancy, Agnes, Liza and Mary, all their families, cousins, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital tomorrow at 5 p.m. for Rotunda church, Xewkija, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 5.30 p.m., followed by interment at St John the Baptist Cemetery, Xewkija. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Today being the trigesima die of OLIVIER LAUTIER, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 6.30 p.m. at Tal-Ibraġ parish church. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Free concert at Girgenti
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will bring its 2009-2010 season to a close with a free concert on July 27 at the Girgenti Palace gardens, limits of Siġġiewi, under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Mrs Gonzi.
The concert, Classics Under The Stars, is yet another in a series launched by the orchestra in its quest to take the orchestra to the community.
It starts at 8.30 p.m. and entrance is free. Tickets should still be obtained from the Office of the Prime Minister, Auberge de Castille, Valletta (entrance from St Paul Street) from tomorrow. Dress code is casual.

Gozo youth orchestra concert
A concert called Opera vs Pop Under the Stars will be held in the courtyard of the Ministry for Gozo in Victoria on August 2 at 8.15 p.m.
The concert by the Gozo Youth Orchestra within the Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra will be held in collaboration with the American Embassy and the Gozo Ministry's Culture Office.
