MICALLEF TRIGONA. On May 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, EVI, widow of Notary John Micallef Trigona, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Gabriella and her husband Nicola Pratellesi, Tonio and his wife Angele, Marisa and Anna, her son-in-law Fredrick Borg Olivier, her grandchildren Francesca, John, Marc, Giselle, Krista and Stephanie, her sister Maronna Calleja of Australia, her in-laws Marie Desira Buttigieg, Mabel Desira Buttigieg, Anna Buttigieg and Rosa Buttigieg, Tony Micallef Trigona, Doris Micallef Trigona and Grace Purdy of America, her nephews and nieces, other relatives, friends and her dedicated carer Nora. The family thanks the staff at Mater Dei Hospital. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Attard parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Vincent de Paul Society will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

PSAILA. On May 1, at her residence in Victoria, Gozo, MARY JANE, aged 67, went to meet the Risen Lord. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Joe, her children Anselm and his wife Sharon, Ivana and her husband Joe Farrugia, Anna Maria and her husband Peter Borg, her grandchildren Paul, John, Maria, Martha and Andrea, her brothers George, Joe and John, her sister Stella and their respective families, her mother-in-law Helen Psaila, nephews and nieces, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Pjazza Sabina tomorrow at 4.30 p.m. for the Gozo Cathedral where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 5 p.m., followed by interment at St John the Baptist Cemetery, Xewkija. Donations to the Arka Respite Centre, Għajnsielem, will be appreciated.

TOMLIN. On May 4, at the motherhouse St Agatha, Rabat, Fr STANLEY TOMLIN, aged 83, former Superior General of the Missionary Society of St Paul, founder of St Paul's Missionary College, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Harry and his wife Barbara, his sisters Celia Salisbury and Frizia Schembri, Lina, widow of his brother Edward, the members of the Missionary Society of St Paul, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at St Agatha's chapel, Rabat, tomorrow at 4 p.m. followed by interment at the motherhouse crypt.

Requiem masses

On the second year of the passing away of MARIA CONSIGLIA FRANCALANZA, all Masses celebrated tomorrow at St Catherine's parish church, Żejtun, will be offered for the repose of her soul. Please remember her in your prayers, Adrian.

Debate on poverty

Students from secondary schools will hold a debate with Cabinet ministers, European Commissioner John Dalli, MEP Edward Scicluna and MPs on issues related to the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.

It will be held on Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon at the House of Representatives in Valletta and chaired by Speaker Michael Frendo.

The activity will take place as part of a week packed with activities to mark Europe Day, on Sunday.

Two-part monologue

A two-part monologue entitled Ir-Ritwal (The Ritual) will take place on May 13 and 14.

The first part will be performed by Kevin Attard and the second by Dominic Dimech. Both will be performed at the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in Valletta at 7.30 p.m.

Each monologue lasts for 20 minutes and will be followed by a psychological interpretation and evaluation by Charlie Azzopardi, psychotherapist and family therapist.
