SIMPSON. On March 11, LILLIAN, widow of Raphael, passed away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Christopher, Dominic and Nicholas and his wife Karyn, her grandchildren Luke, Maryana and Andrew, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ZAMMIT. On March 11, at Casa Bon Sud, Pembroke, MARY of St Julians, widow of Carmelo, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Irene, wife of Emmanuel Dye, Robert and his wife Pia, Marthese, wife of Noel Zarb Cousin, her grandchildren David, Caroline, Amanda, Luke and Laura, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 2 p.m. at St Julians parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

National council for the elderly

The annual general meeting of the National Council for the Elderly is being held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Europe House, 254, St Paul's Street, Valletta. The elderly are encouraged to attend.

Leone band's holy week

The Leone Band of Victoria will accompany the Good Friday Procession starting from the Gozo Cathedral Church on Palm Sunday, March 28, at 6.30 p.m.

It will present a concert of sacred music at the Cathedral church on March 30 at 8 p.m. The Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis and the Cathedral Youth Choir will take part. Entrance is free.

On Maundy Thursday, the Aurora Youth Movement, within the Leone Philharmonic Society, will team up with the youths' section of the Cathedral parish to organise the Seven Sepulchre visits around Gozo. Transport departs from Savina Square at 9 p.m.

The Leone Band will celebrate Easter Sunday with a morning march accompanying the statue of the Resurrected Christ from the Gozo Cathedral at 10.30 a.m.

Pharmacy profession

The Malta Pharmaceutical Association will be holding an informal meeting entitled: The Pharmacy Profession: Where is it going? Pharmacist Mark Zammit will facilitate the discussion while Alison Anastasi, Marisa Dalli, Owen Farrugia, Matthew Gatt and Janis Vella will respond with their views. The meeting will be held at the Montekristo Estate in Ħal Farruġ on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. Finger food will be served during the meeting.
