ROTIN. On March 8, at her residence in Marsascala, CATHERINE (Lily) of Marsascala, aged 68, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her children Sandra and her husband Leonard, Marianne and her husband Joseph, Karen, Jacqueline and her fiancée Sylvan and Peter and his fiancée Dorianne, her grandchildren Nathanael, Sephorah, Anna, Rebecca, Roberta and Andrew, her brothers, sisters and in-laws, their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves her residence today at 2 p.m. for St Anne parish church, Marsascala, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SCOTT. On February 2, Robert C. of Chelmsford, UK, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Susan Skinner and her husband David, his grandchildren Sarah and her husband Paul and Joanne, and his great-grandchildren Sam and Grace. He will be greatly missed by his many friends in Malta, especially Thomas E. Hayes. May God grant him eternal rest.

WISMAYER. On March 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIO, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Lina, née Mifsud Bonnici, his daughter Anna Maria, his son Paul and his wife Ariane, née Pellegrini Petit, his most precious grandson Christian, his in-laws Doris, widow of Basil Rosser, Antoine and his wife Emma, Maurice and his wife Loulou, Mary and her husband Joe Gatt PL, Henriette, widow of Philip Felice Gay, nephews and nieces, as well as Dr Ingrid Hillebrand, Dr Reinold and his wife Dr Anna Hillebrand, Annette Hillebrand, besides other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, St Julians, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On March 8, at her residence in Xagħra, Gozo, GIOVANNA, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Paul and his wife Helen and Lawrence; her sister-in-law Emanuela, widow of Eucharist, Giovanna, widow of Salvu, sons, daughters and in-laws of her late brother Fortunato and her sister Helena, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.45 p.m. for Xagħra parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Victoria cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

Minus One committee

Maria Borg has been elected chair of Minus One Support Group and Marie Louise Suda as secretary.

The other committee members are Charles Schiavone, treasurer, Helen Cassar, public relations officer, Pat Bonello, membership secretary, Roger Micallef, welfare officer, and Joseph Zarb social secretary. Albert Zammit, the founder of the group and chairman for the past 12 years has been appointed honorary president.

The group Minus One is a philantropic and non-profit support group for widows and widowers and their dependent children.

Ecumenical celebration

The Qala parish is organising the Easter edition of the Gozo International Celebration, an ecumenical event for all foreign nationals residing in or visiting the island.

This year's event will be held on March 20 at St Joseph Church in Qala with the theme In Thy Hands.

It will feature performances by the Gospel Singers, Magnificat Choir, sopranos Patricia Buttigieg and Ruth Portelli, organist Robert Buhagiar and pianist Matthew Tabone. Those interested in attending are requested to be seated by 6.15 p.m.

Following the event, a reception will be held at the parish hall.

Car boot sale

Sirens FC Nursery is organising a car boot sale in aid of the club on March 28 at its football ground in Qawra. Sellers have to be there at 7.30 a.m., and pay a fee of €7.50.
