BORG. On February 21, MARYANNE (Mary), widow of Chev. Joe Borg, aged 84, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her deep loss her daughter Edith, wife of Arthur Grech, her son Joe and his wife Isabella, her grandchildren Mariella, Joseph and his wife Ramona, Joseph and Clara Borg, her brother Edgar Gatt, other relatives and friends. ENGERER. On February 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lilian, his children Vanessa and her husband David Farrugia, Edward and his wife Ramona, Kurt and his wife Sarah, Marija Kristina and her partner Wayne, his grandchildren Kyle, Marc, Carla, Jake, Nik, Sam and Kaya, his brothers and sisters Marlene, Dorothy, Austin, Tania, Brian, Christopher and Caroline and their respective spouses, his in-laws, nephews, nieces and numerous friends. GAUCI. On February 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, Sr PAULINE, Franciscan Sisters of Egypt, Ħamrun, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Sr Victoria and her brother Fr Joseph M. Gauci SJ who resides in India, her nephews Fr Charles who resides in Australia and Tonio, her nieces Maria and Marvic, her cousins, other relatives and friends, especially her fellow members of the Sisters of Egypt at Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq and Ħamrun. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Francis church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

VASSALLO. On February 21, JOHN, aged 74, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Michèle, Chantal and her husband Stephen Ganado and Mireille, his sisters, family and numerous friends. VELLA-BRIFFA. On February 22, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, Dr JOSEPH EDWARD VELLA-BRIFFA, former resident of St Julians and Mellieħa, passed away peacefully after a long illness, at the age of 74, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, née Ciantar, his two daughters and their husbands, Rosa and her husband Francis Hunt, and Anna Maria and her husband Jamie Clarke, his grandsons Joshua, Christopher, Timothy, Daniel Hunt and Zac Clarke and his granddaughter Isabella Rosa Clarke. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and their spouses, Alfred and Doris, Frank and Eileen, Victor and Pauline and Dr Dino and Nadette, his brother-in-law Joe Mamo, widower of his sister Margaret, his nephews and nieces, his in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital on February 25 at 1 p.m. for Mellieħa parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in his wife's family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. A prayer is solicited.
