Obituary

BARTOLO. On February 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, RAYMOND, aged 50, of Sliema, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Emma and her husband Brian, Lilian and her husband Jose, Miriam and her husband Reginald, Lina and her husband Brian, Monica and her husband Daniel, and Catherine and her husband Paul, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 1.30 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Ceremony. Lord grant him eternal rest.

BONNICI - JOSÉ. Passed away on February 15 in the Philippines, aged 63. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Iannis and Yorick and their mother Maria, his mother Muriel, his brothers, sisters and their families, other relatives and friends. A Mass in his memory will be said on March 11 at 6.30 p.m. at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. May he rest in peace.

FELICE. On February 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE, aged 86, formerly assistant headmistress in the public service and council member of the Social Assistance Secretariat of the Catholic Action, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Much loved and sadly missed by her sole surviving brother Ferdinand and his wife Olga, her niece Mary Ann and her husband Charles Sant Fournier, her nephews, Alex and his wife Joanna, Donald and his wife Marina, David and his wife Nikki, Alfred and his wife Jane, together with Anthony and his wife Sharry, Joseph and his wife Doreen, Paul and his wife Helen, Joe and his wife Jo, and Anna and other nephews and nieces and their families in North America, her great-nephews and great-nieces in Malta, Nicholas and Tiziana, Paul and Francesca, Rebecca and Patrick, Vera and Shaun and Katrina, Sam and Ella, Tania and Adrian, Yvette and Marvin, her past colleagues and students and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Hamrun where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family is grateful to the staff at the Intensive Therapy Unit of Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

LEAVER. On February 28, at St James Hospital, Sliema, MARY, aged 93, widow of William, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved granddaughter and her son-in-law Carolyn and James Bonello, her sisters-in-law Josephine and Rita Leaver, her dear nephews and nieces, their spouses and families, and her many other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Creche, Sliema, will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

MITCHELL. On February 21, at home in Munxar, Gozo, TERRY JAMES, aged 69, passed peacefully away in his sleep. His funeral will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St Paul's parish church, Munxar, following which he will be laid to rest at Xewkija cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Gozo CCU Foundation (tel: 2156 6496) or to Pauline Mitchell, 52 Triq Munxar, Munxar MXR1004, would be greatly appreciated. In honour of his wishes all friends are then invited to Uncle Ted's Tavern, Sannat, to raise a glass in his memory and to celebrate Terry's life. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Requiem Masses

Tuesday being the 30th anniversary of the death of Fr CARMELO LIA, the 6.30 p.m. Mass said at St Paul's parish church, Safi, will be offered as thanksgiving and for the repose of his soul. Relatives and friends are asked to pray for him.
