AZZOPARDI. On February 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE, ex-director of Agostino Azzopardi and Sons Limited, aged 81, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Carmen née Farrugia, his children Mario and his wife Mary Rose, Josianne and her husband John Attard, Elizabeth and her husband Joseph Borg, his grandchildren Erika, Katia, James, Nicky, Christopher, Peter, Mark, Julian and David, his brother and sisters and their spouses, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Venera parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Five ordinations

Five seminarians will be ordained on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. at the Mosta parish church. These are Stephen Attard from the parish of the Assumption of Our Lady in Mosta, Rene Antoine Cilia from the parish of St George in Qormi, Nicholas Dimech from the parish of St Nicholas in Siġġiewi, Stephen Magro from the parish of Our Lady of Graces in Żabbar and David Torpiano from the parish of St Publius in Floriana.

Prayers for peace

The International Movement of Prayer Blessed Pope John XXIII will be holding an evening of prayer for peace and evangelisation of the world on February 18 between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m. at the basement chapel of Sarria church in Floriana.
