PELLICANO. On May 8, at his residence in Sliema, JOE, aged 63, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Grace, his children Ian and his wife Dorianne, Robert and his wife Elaine, his grandchildren Camille and Helene, his brother Ray, his father-in-law Saviour Azzopardi, his in-laws Charles and Grace and Frances and Mario, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

SANDTROM, JANE, on May 9, passed on following a brave fight against cancer. Beloved wife of Torsten. Survived by her children Vibeke, Maura, Megan and Christopher and the grandchildren Pablo, Dan, Kyle, Kelsey, Natalia, Matilda and Isabel and her special carer, Jocelyn.

Revised electoral register

Those qualified to be registered as voters on March 31 should verify that their name and particulars have been included in the revised electoral register published on April 24.

Those who obtained Maltese citizenship through naturalisation or registration and certified dual nationals are entitled to be registered as voters in this register if on March 3, they had the necessary qualifications in accordance with the Constitution of Malta and Act XXI of 1991. These persons are also urged to verify their inclusion in this Electoral Register.

Any person whose name has not been included in this register or whose particulars appearing in the register need to be corrected may appeal to the revising officer until Thursday.

Persons intending to appeal to the revising officer may seek assistance at the Electoral Office, St Elmo Square, Valletta or at the Identity Cards Office, 28A, St Francis Square, Victoria.

New Mayor

The San Ġwann local council has unanimously elected Renè Savona Ventura as mayor. Keith Grima has been elected vice-mayor. Both Mr Savona Ventura and Mr Grima represent the Malta Labour Party.

Lecture on Maltese language

The University of Malta's Department of Maltese will be holding a series of four lectures by Alexander Borg from the University of Ben-Gurion in Negev, Israel. The first, entitled The Maltese Language And The Dialects Of Arabic, will be held on Tuesday and the second, The Revival Of The Maltese Language, will be held on Wednesday.

The third, entitled Maltese And Hebrew: Similarities And Differences In Their Development, will be held on Thursday and Colours As A Linguistic Test will be held on Friday. All lectures will be delivered in Maltese and shall be held in Hall E, M.A. Vassalli Lecture Centre at 7 p.m.

Music exam workshop

Barry Draycott, the London College of Music examiner in Malta for the spring practical exams, will be conducting a workshop at Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta on May 28 at 6 p.m. The topics covered include sight reading, aural tests and the new diploma syllabus.

Lunchtime cconcert

The last Performers Platform Concert in the Valletta Lunchtime Concerts series will be held on May 23 at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Entitled Three Of A Kind, Valhmor Montfort and Graziella Mizzi on the violin and Matthew Fenech on the viola will be performing works by Vitali, Mazas and Rolla.

Bowling for Mums

The next Bowl 'a' mama session will be held on Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m. Parents can bowl for €6.50 (Lm2.79) and children over three for €4.70 (Lm2.01).

The price includes two games as well as shoe rental, the animal petting corner, tea or coffee for parents and a squash for all the kids. A play area will be in place for toddlers, and nappy changers and bottle warmers are provided. Parking is available at only €1 (43c) at the Eden Car Park. One may call on 2371 0777 to book a lane.
