CAMILLERI. On April 18, JOSEPHINE, aged 65, widower of John, passed away tragically at her residence in Żurrieq. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved son, Joseph and his wife Romina, her beloved daughter Carmen and her husband David Gauci, her brothers Charles, Lawrence and Mario and their respective wives, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for St Catherine parish church, Żurrieq where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment at San Leone Parish Cemetery.

DARMANIN. On April 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY of Cospicua, widow of CHARLES, aged 95, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Emmanuel and his wife Mary, Annie and her husband Godfrey DeMarco, Doris and her husband Joe Mallia, Anthony and his wife Miriam, Connie and her husband Joe Grech, Grace, and her niece Maria of UK, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at the Immaculate Conception parish church, Cospicua, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions will be greatly appreciated.

PACE ASCIAK. On April 21, MARCELLA née Miceli, aged 56, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her beloved and devoted husband Lambert, her children Fabian and fiancée Dawn, Analise and fiancé Malcolm, her mother Adelina Miceli, her sisters, in-laws, nephew and nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be advised tomorrow.

RADMILLI. On April 17, NOEL, passed away peacefully at home. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Sandra, his much loved children Rachel and Paul, his parents Louis and Rita, his brothers David and Berta, Victor and Graziella, his beloved sister Suzanne and Michael Pace, his mother-in-law Myriam Pace, his in-laws Mark and Marianna, Marian and Chris Galea, John and Olga, nephews and nieces, other relatives and numerous friends.
The funeral took place last Saturday and not as advertised last Sunday. Any inconvenience caused to the family is regretted.

SCHNEIDER. On April 18, EGON, aged 91, passed away peacefully at the Martha-Maria Hospital, Munich. He leaves to mourn his loss his niece Dorith and other relatives, the Bauer family and his many friends in Malta, among whom Gabriel Caruana and Richard Saliba and their respective wives and Mgr Ġwann Azzopardi.

VELLA. On April 21, FRANCESCA née Frendo, widow of Dr Francis Vella, of Mosta, aged 91, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe and his wife Diana, May and her husband Elwood, her grandchildren Vanessa and her husband Simon, Karl and his fiancée Joanne, Taryn, Alison and her husband Gregory, her great-grandchildren Nicole, Andre, Hanna and Magane, her brother Salvu and his wife Maria, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for the Mosta Rotunda where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Mosta Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated.

Operettas at the Casino Maltese

The Casino Maltese in Valletta will be resounding to arias from several well-known operettas on Saturday.

The evening, dubbed Serata all'Operetta, is being organised for the Casino Maltese by Joe Fenech, cultural commission chairman of the Association of Lyceum Past Students and ALPS Choir Master.

Starting at 7.30 p.m., the concert will feature sopranos Karen Camilleri and Louiselle Pace Gouder, mezzo-soprano Connie Frances Zerafa, tenor Bernard Busuttil and baritone Lewis Cassar.

The ALPS Choir is being trained by Yolanda Micallef. The soloists are rehearsing with Cynthia Genovese, who will be at the piano during the performance.

The operettas featured will represent a wide-ranging list of composers from Carlo Lombardo/Virgilio Ranzato through Franz von Suppè, Leon Bard, Franz Lehàr, Mario Costa, Sidney Jones, Ralph Benatzky/Robert Stolz and Emerich Kalmann. There will also be an excerpt from It-Twajba Susanna, composed by Jean Gilbert.

Talk on creativity

A talk on The Development Of Intuitive And Creative Faculties To Expand Potential And Possibilities In Life is to be held at the Creation Centre, 29, Trejqet Sant'Anna, Mosta, on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. by Awareness Workshops.

Rue D'Argens traffic arrangements

Parts of Rue D'Argens, from the corner with Princess Margaret Street up to the corner with Msida Road, will be closed to traffic today between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

To this end, traffic from Savoy will be diverted to either Triq Reggie Miller and onto Triq M.A. Vassalli or towards Rudoph Street, Sir Adrian Dingli Street and onto Tower Road, Sliema.

Traffic in the direction towards Savoy will remain unaffected.

Furthermore, the traffic management system along Triq Ta' L-Ibraġ, San Ġwann/Swieqi (near Mekkek Bar) will revert back to two-way traffic as from today. The stretch of road was temporarily changed into a one-way system for the duration of the works on the bridge.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution.

Outings on Mother's Day

The St Paul's Bay local council is organising two outings for mothers, one to Gozo and the other to San Anton Gardens to celebrate Mother's Day.

The trip to Gozo for Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana will be held on May 3.

The May 4 outing to San Anton Gardens will take place during the Annual Great Spring Show.

Grand Prix screening

The McLaren F1 Club (Malta) is inviting all enthusiasts to join club members and their friends at The Halland Hotel, Ta' l-Ibraġ, on Sunday at 2 p.m. to watch the Spanish Grand Prix live on the big screen.

After the race those present will have the opportunity to win F1 merchandising.
