BORG. On March 25, at St Catherine's Home, Fr CYRIL FRANCIS Borg, aged 87, long-time parish priest and missionary at Mount Carmel, Haifa, Israel, and in the Middle East, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the Maltese Province of the Teresian Carmelites, among whom his nephews Fr Redemptus Azzopardi and Fr Mario Borg, other numerous nephews in Malta and abroad, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Catherine's Home today at 8.45 a.m. for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15 a.m., followed by interment at his religious family vault, Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

Ġorġ Mifsud Chircop tribute
Poeżijaplus, which will be held at the Manoel Theatre courtyard in Valletta on March 31, will pay tribute to folklorist and ethnographer Ġorġ Mifsud Chircop, who died last December.
The event starts at 7.30 p.m.
Participants include folk singers Żeppi iż-Żebbuġi, Id-Danny and guitarists Kalċidon Vella ta' Mustaċċa and Ronnie Calleja tal-Mosta.
Songwriters Vince Fabri and Walter Micallef will also participate.
George Cassar and George Peresso will speak about Mr Mifsud Chircop.
Entance is free.
Anniversary concert
Young musicians from the Gozo Wind Band and Orchestra will be holding a concert to mark the fifth anniversary of its inception at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, on Sunday at 8 p.m.
The orchestra consists of 50 Gozitan youths who meet regularly to prepare their repertoire to be performed in concerts throughout the year.
Entrance is free.
The event is being held as part of the Gozo Attractions Incentive Scheme by the Ministry of Gozo in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance through the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund.
Easter Joy concert
The Friday evening concert series at the Sagrestia Vault - Valletta Waterfront will continue with Easter Joy, a celebration of Easter tomorrow at 7 p.m.
The venue for The Friday Concert Series is the Sagrestia Vault, at the stylish Valletta Waterfront. The programme for Easter Joy is a selection of arias, some of which are excerpts from well-known compositions such as Verdi's Requiem, and some other beautiful sacred arias such as Stradella's Pietà Signore, Holy City, Mascagni's Ave Maria, Malotte's The Lord's Prayer and Handel's Ombra Ai Fu - Largo, among others. The programme also includes Ave Maria, composed by Silvio Zammit, that had been premiered in Sagrestia Vault last October.
The concert will feature soprano Marita Bezzina and tenor Joseph Aquilina, accompanied on the piano by Alex Vella Gregory.

Art exhibition extended
The art exhibition with works by the late Norwegian artist Olaug Vethal (1946-2007) at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta has been extended until April 14 due to popular demand.
More artworks will be added to the exhibition collection entitled Grazzi Malta.
An art competition has also been held in conjunction with the exhibition for all young art enthusiasts aged between five and 16 years.
Sliema bazaar
A bazaar in aid of the missions will be held from April 1 until May 15 at the King's Shop in Tower Road, Sliema from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
