On May 29, at her residence in Birkirkara, MARY nee Balzan, widow of Rosario Louis, passed away peacefully at the venerable age of 101, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children John and his wife Miriam, Michael, Sister Domenica, member of the congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa, Rose-Marie and her husband Brian Papagiorcopulo, Vincent and his wife Annie, MaryAnn and her husband Godwin Borg, Joe and his wife Rose, Tania and her husband Godfrey Attard, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild, her carer Jovi, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, May 31 at 9:30am for St Helen Basilica, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10am, followed by private interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GATT. On May 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED (former assistant head of school), residing in Mosta, aged 73, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Grace, his daughter Gabrielle and her husband Alexander and his grandsons Matthew and Luke, his son Albert and his wife Clare, their relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today, Wednesday, May 30 at 3.30pm at Mosta parish church, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Special thanks to the staff of Boffa Hospital and MDH Surgery Wards 1 and 2 for the exceptional care given to him during the final months of his illness.
VELLA. On May 30, at St Vincent de Paul residence, DORIS, née Borg, widow of Dominic, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Marisa and her husband Walter Ellul, Marco and his wife Sylvia, Marilena and her husband Filippo Valera, her beloved grandchildren Maria and her husband Eric Flask, Cheryl Ann, Graziella and Joseph, Martha and Frans and her great-granddaughter Annamaria, her in-laws, their respective families, relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow, Thursday, May 31 at 1.15pm for St Venera parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
