ATTARD. On March 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, SAVIOUR of Valletta, residing in Gżira, passed away peacefully at the age of 85. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doris, his children Marcelle and her husband Dennis Mizzi, Mario and Patrick, his granddaughter Denise and her husband Christian Micallef, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 9.30am, for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, and Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BONELLO. On March 29, ELSIE, née Magri, widow of Joseph, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Christopher, her daughter Caroline and her husband Stephen Tonna Lowell, her sisters Doris, Margaret, Mona and Alice, her brother Cecil, her in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, at 2pm, at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CALLEJA. On March 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, JANE, aged 81, passed away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Mario and his wife Mary Grace, her daughter Carmen and her husband Peter Paul, Mary Calleja, her grandchildren Janice and her partner Daniel, Glen and his wife Josefa, Matthew and his girlfriend Jessica, Daniel, Raffaele, Malcolm and his girlfriend Natica, Jan and his girlfriend Hannah, her siblings Salvina and her husband Evarist, Leli and his wife Kate, Ġuża, Marija and her husband Emmanuel, her brother’s widow Grace, her husband’s siblings Ġuża, Reno, Dominic, Anthony and their spouses, her great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, at 3pm, at Marsascala parish church, followed by interment at Tarxien cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CALLEJA GERA. On March 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, LINA, née Anastasi, widow of Francis, aged 86, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Jennifer and her husband John Cassar Aveta, Angela and her husband David Pace O’Shea, Sandra and her husband Thomas Schmitt and George and his wife Enid. She also leaves to mourn her loss, her grandchildren Ann and Simi, Neil and Vanessa, Gail and Andre, Fleur and Andrea, Debbie, Hanna and Max, Julia, Nathaniel and Cristina and her great-grandchildren, Beatrice, Aurora, Francesco and Mya. Also, her siblings John, Pauline and Pio. Her sisters-in-law, Rita Bonello Ghio and Lina Calleja Gera of Canada, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 8.30am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, however donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St Joseph Ward 11, St Vincent de Paul Residence for their care and dedication.

CARUANA. On March 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr MAURICE CARUANA, MSSP, passed away peacefully at the age of 71, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Carmelina, members of the Missionary Society of St Paul, his nephews and nieces, former colleagues and old boys at St Paul’s Missionary College, Rabat, other relatives, and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 8.30am, at Our Lady of Graces Sanctuary, Żabbar, followed by interment in the MSSP grave at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. CHETCUTI. On March 27, MARK of Mosta, aged 57, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Moira, née Camilleri, his only beloved son Neil and his fiancée Jessica Grima, his loving mother Carmen, his sisters Helga, Celia and husband Mario, his brother Steve and wife Jackie, his nephews Gregory and Luke, his nieces Nina, Michelle and Rebecca, his in-laws Adelaide, Caroline and Ruth and her husband Steve and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 8am, for St Mary’s Basilica, Mosta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ELLUL. On March 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, SYLVIA of Balzan, passed away peacefully at the age of 69, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Victor, her sons Mario, Stephen and his partner Claudine, Noel, Vince and his fiancée Nevice, her grandchildren Leeone and Shanaya, her brothers and sisters, her in-laws and their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 2pm, for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SALIBA. On March 19, at the Maltese Jesuit Mission in India, Fr EMIDIO SALIBA, SJ, aged 76, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta and India, his brother Joseph and his wife Mary, his sisters Mary, widow of Harry Fsadni, Sister Lydie of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Carmen, widow of John Lia, relatives and friends in Malta and India. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at 6.30pm, at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Donations to the Jesuit Mission in India (38, Loyola House, Naxxar NXR2069) will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

SCHEMBRI. On Thursday, March 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, DEBBIE, aged 49, passed away after she accepted an unusual life not without suffering. She leaves to mourn her loss her father Anton and his partner Marianne, her brother Ian and his wife Albert and daughter Christie, her sister Krista and her husband Frankie, her son David, her many colleagues at MITA, her helpers at Akkwarella, as well as the Schembri and Curmi families. A private burial will be held tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery where she is resting in the family chapel along with her mother Hilda.

VELLA. On March 24, JOHN C. of Mosta, aged 66, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Christ, surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Marsha, née Muscat, his son Andrew and his wife Sharon, his daughter Maria and her husband Keith, his grandchildren Angela, Elena, Jenny and James, his sister Carmen and her husband Frans, his sister Doreen and her husband Joe, his sister Henriette, widow of Alfred, his sister-in-law Carmelina, widow of Neville, his sister-in-law Simone and her husband Carmelo, his sister-in-law Marie and her husband Olvin, his nephews and nieces, dear relatives and friends, and the staff at John C. Vella Sewing Machines. He will always be remembered as John Vella tal-magni tal-ħjata, a passion he always carried with great heart. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Friday, March 29, at 3pm, for St Mary’s Basilica, Mosta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 3.30pm, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On March 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE (Bologna), passed away peacefully at the age of 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Rosanne, née Axisa, his children Pia and Chris, Gianni and Kirsty, and his granddaughter, Kay. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters, Andre and Victoria, Marie-Louise and Vincent Falzon, Mae, Michael Sant, widower of Monica, Victoria and Edward Melillo, his nephews and nieces, other relatives, and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, at 8.30am, at Lija parish church, followed by interment in the family grave at Lija cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank the nurses, carers and staff at Casa Leone, St Julian’s, and Ward M5, Mater Dei Hospital.

Requiem Mass

Today being the 32nd anniversary of the death of MARIKA NAUDI, née Hili, a Mass will be said today, March 29, at 6.30pm, at the Immaculate Conception church, Tal-Ibraġ, St Andrews. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

In Memoriam

CARUANA – MARY, née Peplow. Today being the 28th year of her meeting with the Lord. Forever loved by her children Josephine, Elizabeth, Joe, Carmen, Rita, Marie, Pauline and their families. Dearest mum, embrace our beloved Antoinette and hold her tight till we all meet again. Rest in peace.

MALLIA – FRANCE. Treasured memories of a beloved husband, father and grand-father who passed away 15 years ago. Connie, sons, daughter and families.

MICALLEF – CARMELINA. In loving memory of a dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, especially today the 12th anniversary of her demise. Greatly missed by her daughters, Marilyn, Grace, Iliana, in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May she rest in peace.

MIFSUD. In loving memory of our dearest mother MARIA PIA on the first anniversary of her passing away to eternal life, March 31, 2018.
