Obituaries

BORG. On March 26, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, PHILIP of Balzan, passed away peacefully at the age of 86, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his children Maryanne, widow of Joseph Schembri, Joseph and his wife Josette, Nathalie and Oliver, his grandchildren Roana and David, Sarah, Martina, Matthew and Lara, and his great-grandchildren Zack, Soleil, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, March 29, at 8am, for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank  all the staff at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital for their care and dedication.

CALLEJA GERA. On March 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, LINA, née Anastasi, widow of Francis, aged 86, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Jennifer and her husband John Cassar Aveta, Angela and her husband David Pace O’Shea, Sandra and her husband Thomas Schmitt and George and his wife Enid. She also leaves to mourn her loss  her grandchildren Ann and Simi, Neil and Vanessa, Gail and Andre, Fleur and Andrea, Debbie, Hanna and Max, Julia, Nathaniel and Cristina and her great-grandchildren, Beatrice, Aurora, Francesco and Mya. Also, her siblings John, Pauline and Pio. Her sisters-in-law, Rita Bonello Ghio and Lina Calleja Gera of Canada, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Saturday, March 30, at 8.30am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, however donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St Joseph Ward 11, St Vincent de Paul Residence for their care and dedication.

SALIBA. On March 19, at the Maltese Jesuit Mission in India, Fr EMIDIO SALIBA, SJ, aged 76, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta and India, his brother Joseph and his wife Mary, his sisters Mary, widow of Harry Fsadni, Sister Lydie of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Carmen, widow of John Lia, relatives and friends in Malta and India. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on Saturday, March 30, at 6.30pm, at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Donations to the Jesuit Mission in India (38, Loyola House, Naxxar NXR2069) will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

VELLA. On March 24, JOHN C. of Mosta, aged 66, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Christ, surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Marsha, née Muscat, his son Andrew and his wife Sharon, his daughter Maria and her husband Keith, his grandchildren Angela, Elena, Jenny and James, his sister Carmen and her husband Frans, his sister Doreen and her husband Joe, his sister Henriette, widow of Alfred, his sister-in-law Carmelina, widow of Neville, his sister-in-law Simone and her husband Carmelo, his sister-in-law Marie and her husband Olvin, his nephews and nieces, dear relatives and friends, and the staff at John C. Vella Sewing Machines. He will always be remembered as John Vella tal-magni tal-ħjata, a passion he always carried with great heart. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

GLANVILLE – CARMELO. In ever loving memory of a dear father on the 32nd anniversary of his death. Forever missed by his daughter Carmen and her family.

LAUTIER – JOHN, 27.03.1968. In loving memory of a dear father and nannu. Very sadly missed after 51 years. Saviour, Carmen and family. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PULLICINO. In loving memory of our dearest MARION on the 34th anniversary of her death.Our family chain is broken. And nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one. The chain will link again. Never forgotten by her loving husband Wally, children Godwin and his wife Jo, Yvette and Kenneth and his wife Louise, grandchildren Sophie, Luke and Bernard. Lord grant her eternal rest.

PULLICINO. Treasured memo-ries of my beloved mother MARION on the 34th anniversary of her demise. You were and always will be. The light that guides my way. I think about you often. And miss you every day. Forever in my heart and prayers, Yvette. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
