Almost 11,000 people had an annual taxable income of less than €500 during 2014, the Finance Minister said today.

Following a parliamentary question by PN MP Frederick Azzopardi, minister Edward Scicluna informed Parliament that 19,977 people's taxable income does not exceed €1,000 a year.

On the other hand, 11, 593 persons registered an annual income that was over €40,000.

The largest cohort (108,532 individuals) had an annual income between €10,001 and €20,000, followed by the 94,055 persons earning between €1,001 and €10,000 a year.
