Allied Newspapers Limited have been appointed as official media partners of the upcoming Football Symposium, being organised by the Malta Football Association on May 23 and 24, 2019.

The media partnership with Allied Newspapers Limited, the leading news organisation on the Maltese islands, provides a strong platform for enhanced media coverage and engagement in the build-up to the Football Symposium.

The Football Symposium will delve into social media trends and debates as well as unfurling esports initiatives, with the collaboration of Gamers.com.mt, while recognising that football has indeed created the world’s largest digital community, hence the theme ‘Opportunities in the Digital World’.

“We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Allied Newspapers Limited to be the official media partners of the Football Symposium,” Dr Matthew Paris, the Malta Vice-President who is co-ordinating the organisation of this event, said.

“I’m confident that this partnership will be of mutual benefit for both organisations.

“As media partners, Allied Newspapers will promote the Football Symposium through their popular print and digital channels as well as report the actual event which will address topics and trends that are very relevant to the media industry.”

David Melillo, Allied Newspapers Chief Commercial Officer, said: “As Allied Newspapers, we form media partnerships with a select number of organisations and events.

“Our considerations are not only commercial – rather, we form such partnerships with events and organisations that clearly add value to various sectors including, in this case, football.”

The line-up of keynote speakers and experts for the Football Symposium, which will kick off May 23 with a Networking Session at the Trophies Lounge, include renowned Sky Italia football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Roman Putsch, Head of Marketing Activities at UEFA, and Christian Spiteri, a prominent EA Sports FIFA19 gamer who is ranked in the top 50 of the EA Sports FIFA19 Global Series.

More international guests and speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
