Alternattiva Demokratika this afternoon called for the publication of all telephone conversations related to the shooting, by the Home Affairs Minister's driver, of a car which hit the ministerial car.
In a statement, AD chairman Arnold Cassola said that in view of the publication of the first telephone calls between the driver, Paul Sheehan, and the Police Commissioner, "in the name of truth and justice, we expect all following telephone conversations to be published".
It called for the publication of the conversations between PC Sheehan and the minister; the acting Commissioner and the minister and the Prime Minister; the minister and the Prime Minister, his PR officer Silvio Scerri and the OPM communications chief Kurt Farrugia; and between Mr Farrugia and Mr Scerri and the Prime Minister.
AD reiterated that the most important aspect of this whole mess was the minister's direct political responsibility in the matter.
This, it said, was being ignored by most commentators and politicians.
"It is unheard of in normal democracies to have a minister's member of staff involved in a shooting, with the minister brushing off responsibility," Prof. Cassola said.
