A board to investigate all the cases brought to the Electoral Commission's attention about alleged breaches to the Financing of Political Parties law is being set up, the commission said this morning.

In a three-line statement that the composition of the board members shall be announced in the coming days as soon as the relevant persons are appointed.

The Labour Party has recently claimed that the Nationalist Party's media company issued "false invoices" to cover payments meant as a donation to the party.

On the other hand, the PN claimed the PL is breaking the law on three fronts: it still is not registered with the Electoral Commission, it presented no details about donors, while top party officials and media presenters were being paid by people's taxes, the PN charged.
