The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality has awarded Alert Communications the Equality Certificate for basing its management practices on the recognition of the potential of all employees.

Alert Communications (www.alert.com.mt) is a one-stop-shop offering web design and multimedia development, software development, search engine optimisation and marketing, and online payment management.

“NCPE envisions a society which is equal and free from discrimination on the grounds of gender, race or ethnic origin. The Equality Mark is a certification awarded to companies that demonstrate a commitment towards the best practices in this area,” the Commission said.

“Alert company’s policies are built in such a way to respect individuals’ capabilities irrespective of their gender, race or ethnicity. Encouraging gender diversity at each level of the company’s structure, Alert encourages more innovative approaches to its web development and design work, based on the different skills and experiences of both genders,” the company said.

“It is important to operate within an environment that supports gender equality,” said Claudine Cassar, the owner of Alert Communication. “The IT industry is typically male-dominated, and lacks the creative input of female engineers, designers, and programmers working behind the scenes, and enriching the corporate outcome. We are very happy to be awarded this certificate for making gender equality one of our company’s values,” she said.
