Air Malta said today that it will shortly launch an invitation for offers for the acquisition of its package holiday division, Flyaway Tours.

"The sale process will offer prospective bidders an excellent opportunity to
acquire an established, renowned package holiday brand which enjoys a solid customer base that has serviced the local community for over 35 years," the airline said.

"The process will be conducted in a seamless manner, both for customers who have already booked their holiday, and also for those who will be booking their Flyaway Tours during the sale process."

The sale transaction is expected to be concluded by the end of October.

Last year Flyaway Tours serviced more than 8,000 travel arrangements for individuals who booked over 23,000 bed nights. The division is geared to offer holiday packages for the individual traveller, not only to destinations on Air Malta's route network, but also beyond.
