Air Malta, the Union of Cabin Crew and the General Workers' Union have reached an agreement on outstanding issues between them.

As a result, and with immediate effect, all industrial actions taken by the Unions have been suspended and the airline’s operations will return to normal with immediate effect.

The airline thanked all parties for reaching an agreement "in the best interest of the airline, its employees, customers and the country at large".

No information was given on the terms of the agreement.

The industrial action started over a week ago. The Union of Cabin Crew had instructed its members to only board their aircraft at the scheduled time of departure, which means that each flight leaving Malta was being delayed by a minimum of 30 minutes.

The industrial dispute was over working conditions.
