Air Malta’s flights to Tripoli and Benghazi are continuing as scheduled but the airline is constantly monitoring the situation, a spokesman said.

Air Malta cancelled flights to Benghazi last month after Britain said it was aware of a 'specific and imminent' threat to Westerners in the eastern Libyan city. The company resumed its flights to the four days later.

Germany's Lufthansa and its subsidiary Austrian Airlines halted flights to Tripoli yesterday.

An Air Malta spokesman said when contacted that based on the airline’s latest information, obtained even through its representatives in both Benghazi and Tripoli, Air Malta flights to the Libyan cities were continuing.

Air Malta has daily flights to Tripoli and on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Benghazi.
