Passengers on Air Malta's KM146 flight to Manchester scheduled to leave at 3.20 p.m. are patiently waiting at the airport's departures lounge after they had to disembark due to problems with the aircraft's braking system.

A passenger told timesofmalta.com that after boarding, passengers sat on the plane for about one-and-a-half hours during which they were told that there was a problem with the aircraft's braking system.

The passengers could hear engineers and staff working on the airline and they were asked to disembark at around 5.10 p.m.

The aircraft was about 90 per cent full.
