Air Malta has launched two videos aimed at supporting Malta as a fun, young, summer-loving destination. Both were shot at Golden Bay.

The first video captured the surprised faces of several unsuspecting  beach goers when 60 odd professional dancers, clad in red, congregated en masse.

The atmosphere on the beach and in the clear, shallow waters was transformed as everyone joined together to dance to a feel-good summer number entitled 'Rain or Shine' by the Big Band Brothers, a popular local act.

The band members were also invited to join in the fun on the beach, and some decided to wade in the waters – even plunging in with their musical instruments and playing along to the music, while others trumpeted from the cliff tops over-looking the waters.

Gymnasts flipped and somersaulted in time to the music on the water's edge and snorkelers swam inland to join the sensation.

The scope of the initiative was to promote the island as a holiday destination and also to celebrate the Malta Music Week, organised to support this week’s central event - the Isle of MTV free concert for which Air Malta was an official sponsor.

The second video, a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, is intended to encourage viewers to support the YMCA Homeless Kids Project, which is currently raising funds for the renovation of premises in Valletta intended exclusively for their younger residents.

A total of 5,000 YMCA T-shirts were produced by Air Malta and sold during the Isle of MTV event to collect funds for this project.

A limited number of T-shirts are still available and currently on sale at the Hard Rock Cafe, the YMCA offices in Valletta, Malta Tourism Authority Offices and Air Malta Sales Offices at MIA. The T-shirts shall also be on sale all weekend at the Air Malta stand at the Sliema Street Art Festival.

This video promotes messages about the importance of 'home' and 'music'. It features young people of all nationalities holding up messages of hope and love while wearing the official Isle of MTV YMCA T-shirts.

One of these messages reads, "There is more love in the world than hate"; and another, "Home is where I go to when life gets complicated".

The video shows popular local music sensation, Ira Losco, wearing one of these T-shirts, and holding up the message, "Life is something we all share with each other".

World-famous Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja, also took part in this video and expressed a key personal belief that, "Music sometimes helps me say things that I can't".

The video ends with a visit to the present YMCA premises, which, in a less than ideal state, houses both the old and young together under one roof.

The visit to the premises by the production team confirmed the truth of the statement carried on the YMCA T-shirts, that "No home is complete without music", when music was heard blaring out of one of the rooms of the YMCA youngest residents.
