An Air Malta pilot proposed to his girlfriend on one of Air Malta's Valentine's Day Love Planes yesterday, and she said yes.

Captain Charles Borg (who was not at the controls) found a novel way to surprise his girlfriend, Julia Lynne Saliba a stewardess on the flight.

He set the flight coordinates on his computer, with the last one being Will You Marry Me.

Then he called her to the cockpit and asked her to read them for him, taking her completely by surprise.

Air Malta's two Love Planes flew in a heart shaped pattern around Sicily before landing back in Malta.

Captain Borg was not the only one who proposed.

Earlier, passenger Claudio Barbara, 26 from Mtarfa proposed to his girlfriend Ruth Grech, 25, on the aircraft's PA system. She said Yes.
