An Air Malta’s flight from Paris had to abort landing in Malta this evening because a business jet was still on the runway.

The flight, KM479, was instructed to perform a go-around procedure by an air traffic controller as a safety measure because the Gainjet 20 had to abort its take-off.

The flight landed only 11 minutes behind schedule, at 7.46 p.m. instead of at 7.35 p.m.

A spokesman for Air Malta confirmed the incident but said the procedure was quite frequent at major airports.
