An Air France Boeing 777 made an emergency landing in Malta early this morning after a passenger suffered a suspected heart attack.

The aircraft was on its way from Saint Denis de la Reunion in the Indian Ocean to Orly Paris. It declared an emergency at about 4 am and landed safely. A medical team was waiting for the plane and transferred the passenger to hospital.

The flight resumed shortly after.
