An agreement has been reached between the government and the Malta Union of Teachers, the union said.
The agreement, which follows three months of intensive talks, will be signed on Monday.
The union said in a statement it will soon be holding a meeting for delegates to explain the details of the agreement.
It said the country would soon be facing big and important reforms in the educational sectors and educators would be accepting the challenges ahead courageously and with commitment. They were conscious, however, of the difficulties they might have to face in the first years.
The reforms, the union said, were costly, and it was the government’s responsibility to ensure that they were carried out hand in hand with the union, so that their success would be ensured.
