An agreement for a pilot project aimed at improving the Ta Qali vegetable market has been signed between the Rural Affairs Ministry and the Farmers Central Cooperative Society.

The six-month pilot project will analyse how the proposed changes are being implemented.

This should lead to the eventual continuation of the reform of the market which was essential.

One of the main principles of the reform is the grading of produce, which farmers will be trained in. A traceability system will also be created.

The infrastructural, restructuring and IT work required for the reform is estimated to cost around €6 million.
