An AFM helicopter ferried two sailors to hospital in separate cases last night.

The first case involved a trawler which issued a call for help late yesterday afternoon when 50nm off the Maltese coast. A Tunisian national who claimed to be suffering from severe chest pain was hoisted by helicopter and taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Early this morning a helicopter evacuated a Libyan sailor off a fishing vessel. He was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from general exhaustion and bleeding.
