The Labour Party would be making a huge mistake if it were to expel Adrian Vassallo from its ranks (The Sunday Times, June 13).

I am sure that if an election were to be held in two months' time, he would be comfortably re-elected because 'empty vessels make most sound'. He should not feel hindered by the party's youth section - actually it is they, with their 'progressive' thinking, who are hindering Labour.

I am sure that, in a free and secret ballot, Parliament would overwhelmingly condemn pornography, as it would be in a referendum. Pornography is just a money-making, filthy business. Sex (and not pornography) is beautiful and not man-made, so let it be between two consenting couples.

I take the opportunity to exhort MPs from both sides to unite and take this issue seriously, for we elected them to be responsible and not to allow this country to wallow in decadence.
