The Family Affairs Ministry has had talks over the past months with 10 countries in a bid to facilitate child adoptions.

Minister Michael Farrugia said the talks were held with Albania, Slovakia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Vietnam, Chile, Cambodia and Ghana.

Answering a question in parliament by Robert Cutajar (PN), he added that it was the prerogative of each country to decide whether or not to put Malta on the list of potential adoptive countries.
