Following my letters (The Sunday Times, June 20), I am pleased to see that the well in the forecourt of the Addolorata Cemetery has now been covered with a flat iron and secured with screws (right).

However, no additional iron bars have yet been installed to the frame (base of a flower pot) which is placed right on top of a pit/well (left). A small child may easily crawl between these bars and fall into the pit/well. Safety should come first, especially when young children may be involved.

It would be a shame on whoever is responsible if I need to write again on this subject.
