A general election should be held even though the Opposition's motion of no confidence in the government did not garner a majority, AD said.

Chairman Michael Briguglio said that Malta cannot be held hostage by a member of
parliament who is keeping the country guessing.

He said: "The current political crisis shows that the two party system is bankrupt and that Malta should have a proper European multi-party democracy."
