An actor’s collection of celebrity autographs will go under the hammer, auctioneers said.

Martin Ballantyne is offering signatures of stars including Michael Caine, Woody Allen, Ronnie Barker, John Cleese, Jack Lemmon and Paul McCartney, at a sale in Aylsham, Norfolk.

Keys auctioneers said Mr Ballantyne, who has a minor role in the latest Harry Potter film, had spent hours “hanging around stage doors” and amassed a collection of 400 signatures.

“I am not expecting to see huge prices,” said Keys’ valuer Andrew Bullock. “But there are going to be some nice, affordable Christmas presents on offer.”
