Matthew Bajada, 25, of Sta Venera was this afternoon found not guilty of masterminding the importation of some 21,000 ecstasy pills in January 2009.

The not-guilty verdict was delivered by a jury after a trial which started last week.

A co-accused,  Joseph Camilleri, 56, from Rabat,  last year admitted to his involvement in drug importation and was jailed for 12 years and fined €20,000.
