A man was charged with breaking the conditions of his bail yesterday when he called the police to say he would kill his underage daughter’s 30-year-old boyfriend.

Jesmond Azzopardi, who faces separate court proceedings for threatening his daughter with a kitchen knife, pleaded not guilty to breaching the conditions of his bail.

Mr Azzopardi claims his daughter was forced into prostitution by her boyfriend, who was acting as her pimp.

Defence lawyer Toni Abela said his client had not made the threat but simply called the police.

The prosecution, on the other hand, insisted to Magistrate Aaron Bugeja that the man posed a danger to his daughter and her boyfriend.
