A woman who was last Friday charged with stabbing her neighbour in the hand today denied the allegation and placed the blame on the alleged victim who ended up stabbed in the hand.

Testifying in the case against Ramona Magri, 31, from Qormi who stands charged with the attempted murder of Wendy Gauci, 24, also of Qormi, Police Inspector Roderick Agius said that the dispute began some days ago when the two women argued over a man in Paceville.

A number of SMSs were exchanged and the argument escalated resulting in a fight last Wednesday .

He said the two women lived in the same block of apartments but Ms Agius had since moved out.

During the investigation Ms Magri said that she was attacked by Ms Gauci with a metal pipe and then had her car's back windscreen had been smashed in.

In a separate arraignment, Ms Gauci is pleading not guilty to causing damage to Ms Magri’s car.

The case continues.
