Two men being charged with aggravated possession of heroin and cocaine were found packing the drugs in sachets at a Qormi garage, where there was also a horse, a court heard yesterday.

Testifying in the case against Rosario Cortis, 31, of Qormi and Carmel Muscat, 40, of Siġġiewi, Police Inspector Gabriel Micallef told the court officers went a garage complex and on the upper level found a locked gate blocking the entrance to some three to four other garages.

Inside a workshop they found 18 grams of heroin, another 40 sachets of the same drug and 80 grams of cocaine. They also found weighing scales with traces of brown powder a knife, also with traces of powder.

The inspector said he found a key belonging to a garage on the opposite side, where he found another packet of heroin.

The case continues.
