I read the opinion of Rodolfo Ragonesi on Brexit (‘Brexit? What Brexit?’, March 20). In no way shape or form is this the UK I lived in for 54 years until moving to Malta in 2009 and to Gozo two years ago.

Being a ‘foreigner’ English, I continually get the same petty response to my opinions of the political skullduggery here: “Sort Brexit out before commenting on politics you don’t understand.”

Which brings me to my point. If Theresa May as Prime Minister of a working democracy wielded the same power that Joseph Muscat does in his ‘democracy’, Brexit would have been finished two weeks after the vote. Problem being, in Britain, as is shown on a daily basis, the Prime Minister is made accountable to the electorate whereas here the Prime Minister seems to answer to... Any ideas?
