The article Abortion Ruling ‘Not Relevant’ To Malta (December 21) drew my attention to the fact that present Maltese law forces a pregnant woman to forfeit her health or even life to give the foetus the possibility to grow up.

Is this really what the Maltese want for their wives and daughters? And, if not, should this ruling not be a wake-up call to change the law forthwith?
