On October 31, the Catholic Institute in Floriana was the venue for a gathering organised by the Association of Parents of Children in Church Schools (APCCS). All the children who entered Church primary and secondary schools, through the Common Entrance Examination for the first time last September, as well as their parents, were invited to this gathering.

This special event started with Mass celebrated by Fr Dominic Scerri OP, the Archbishop's delegate for Church schools, and by Fr Silvio Bezzina, MSSP, assistant head at St Paul's Missionary College, Rabat. This was followed by a talent show in which children from various church schools participated. The two-hour show was ably compered by J. Anvil.

In a brief address, association president Doreen Camilleri highlighted the objectives of APCCS and encouraged parents to take a more active role in parent-teachers' associations of church schools. Mrs Camilleri urged parents to support future intitatiaves to be taken by APCCS.

A special thanks went out to the seven schools performing in the talent evening. An astonishing number of pupils contributed to the varied and lively programme of music, dance and drama.

The students represented St Dorothy's (Senior School) Żebbuġ, Immaculate Conception School, Tarxien, Mater Boni Consiglii School, Paola, St Michael College, Qormi, St Monica (Senior School), Gżira, St Paul's Missionary College, Rabat, and Stella Maris, Balzan.

Bro. Saviour Gatt, founder of the association, was presented with a gift in recognition of his work within the association. In turn, Bro. Saviour delivered a short address on the history of the association and congratulated the council and the schools for these initiaves. APCCS council members took this opportunity to meet with the parents present.
