It is a pleasure to see someone who has contributed so much to one of Malta's main political parties, like Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott (The Sunday Times, March 21) advocate a political system in which many important issues are approached in non-partisan ways.

Many of us who try to think beyond colours and revenge would agree wholeheartedly. It is also notable that Prof. Serracino Inglott highlights the fact that Malta's MEPs on the whole seem to be providing an excellent example that deserves to be followed by our country as a whole. So true.

Until recently, Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat was one of these MEPs, and is tirelessly trying to adapt this"non-partisan" approach to local politics, hence for the movement he has created. But it takes two to tango.

Maybe the admirable Prof. Serracino Inglott is now barking up the wrong tree. It is not his fault, it's the tree that's dimmed, grown old and changed, even turned against him. Maybe it's time to move on and nourish a more flourishing one.
